May 21, 200620 yr Is there a utility out there to determine the speed of my RAM? I know how much RAM each stick has. Each stick is 512, but I'm not sure about the speed of each. I believe one is DDR 400 and the other 333. I'm running in "dynamic paging mode" or something like that, since the speed of the 2 sticks differs.Another question I have is if running with two different RAM speeds is detrimental to performance? Would I be better off with just the one stick of DDR 400, or should I maybe replace the lower speed of the two sticks and match it to the higher speed? Thanks,TimWindows XP ProIntel 3.0 GHzRadeon X850 XTAudigy 2 ZS100 GB WD SATA Directx 9.0c
May 22, 200620 yr An excellent freeware program is PC Wizard, available at http://www.cpuid.com. It will give you highly detailed information on all the hardware in your pc, including the info you're asking for in your post.
May 25, 200620 yr I'd recommend SiSoft Sandra. Their Lite edition is free.http://www.sisoftware.netI have found that RAM does make little difference with the performance of FS9. Maybe 1%, but that's it. Don't expect any micracles from a RAM upgrade. The ultimate performance gain is a powerful CPU in combination with an appropriate GPU.Good luck.
