Oh I've been following this for a while now. On the flip side the AMD chips prices have falling quite a bit. The chip I was planning on getting (AM2 FX 62 Duo) dropped $300. over night. It looks like AMD really doesn't have anything to challange the Core 2 duo and most likely won't until late 2007 or 2008. This is great because that will be my next upgrade in 2008. I think after all the reading I've done, I'm going to switch back to intel and try the new Intel Core 2 Extreme processor X6800. Down side; there's not a lot of selection for the motherboard yet.I do understand your advise on waiting, and we are waiting until mid August to order this. I think this is an excitting time in PC, and is worth a 2-3 week wait to order. What I would not do is wait until Feb to upgrade, that's far too long to wait for myself.
