Garbled screen when exiting FS9.

I'm wondering if anyone can help me on this. I just reinstalled FS9 on another hard drive recently, due to a crash that completely ruined my old hard drive. I downloaded all the files I could remember and installed them into my new FS9 install and had everything the way I had it before...even the age old problem of serious stutters when turning at the airports came back. So I went to the tips section and got the info I was looking for and put the following in my FS9.cfg, under the video card heading.TextureAGP=0PanelAsTexture=0So probably everyone knows about this by now, as I do. I'm not a new user, but what I am experiencing now is new. I ran FS9 and couldn't believe the improvement. Everything was buttery smooooth, I mean like silk! I did a few touch and goes and watched the replays. Even when I landed and the wheels made contact with the runway, not nary a stutter, which was a first for me. I had never gotten this dramatic a result before from making those two entries into the FS9.cfg. So I turned up the AA...still smooth as silk, but now it looked so much better. So I turned up the mip maps. Still smoooth as silk! I couldn't believe it. I enjoyed the next hour or so. It was like flying a brand new sim! Here's the kicker. When I log out my monitor screen goes to a shredded picture. I mean that's what it looks like. It's all garbled and I can't access anything. I have to power down manually and restart, then everything is fine. I don't want to make any changes because I've never had the sim running so smooth before. Any answers as to what the problem is and how I can fix it without removing those entries?
