FSX only

Featured Replies

This will probably be a long post so bare with me.I for one am excited on the upcoming FSX, what im not looking forward to is all the tweaking i may do to get it top notch.with fs9 my frame rate is barely above 10 11 frames per sec.but let me tell you what i have. i run eight monitors and five computers , five of the monitors are used for views, the rest for instrumentation.the main com i have a gigabyte board, 3800+ ,7800gsos vid card, 80 gig sata, i056 ram.the other four coms have 1.8 thru 2.2 cpu,s and 6600 vid cards in the four coms, with forty gig hard drives, 750 ram inn each.i believe i have enough power to run this game, everything works great other than my low frame rate.now here is my software.FSXRadar Contackactivskyultimate trafficnight enviromentfsnavigator fuicpwideviewwidefsfstimkeeperIndy 2005INDY AIRPORTlevel d 767various land mesh softwareim sure i missed somthing but these are the software that must be loaded for me to fly.now the question i have for someone outthere is what is the best frame rate you should at least get , i dont want to get to focused on frame rate but that is the only measurement i have to tell if im getting the fullest.Im going to the convention next week and i have a ton of questions to ask. When i get my hands on FSX, im going to start with a new slate.im going to dump everything on my coms and build them up for FSX only, i mean im only putting on only software that is needed , and that includes the software that i use normally.im even going to wait until i get the new operating software for windows.so the super big question that i have is with all my coms all freshly dumped and looking at me. i load the new operating system, at that point do i need all that security and other extra junk that will bog your system down when you get it up and running , how do you know what you absolutely need and what you can get rid of, i only want softwart that is pertinant to FSX without no bogging down other than the software that i must have to run.i will only run software on another machine that can be networked.what im tring to do is make my machines run as smoothly as possible, i know my machine can do better i just need to know how to do it.i have looked at the tweak section of this forum, and it helps a little, but what i want is some help on and where to find this common ground. If im looking at five coms what would be a step by step procedure on loading FSX and getting top performance from your machines set up purely for FSX only.Thanks..............................Robert
