I am getting these pocadots all over my vc some times worse than others. I also get them on clouds alot. This is after buying a new ati radeon x1900xt, it works great except for this.

Hi,See if you are over-heating. Take your computer cover off and fly a bit. This can also happen if you are over cloking your card. I don't think you are doing that, are you?Do you have a large enough PS to handle this card?Did you remove your FS9.cfg file and allow a new file to be generated?Thanks,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development Team Active Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/AirSource Member: http://www.air-source.us/FSEconomy Member:http://www.fseconomy.com/

Hmm, well I have a 450 watt antec, and thats what it says I should have. I did enable ati overdrive, I will disable it. And it did not show signs of overheating, it does blow hot air out, but the temps did not get into the red. Is 60 degrees celcius an exceptable temperature for a video card under a load, normal fs temp for the card is about 55-60. Also this card has a noisy fan and if it was at full strength I would certainly hear it.

Possibly exchange your card. This surely does sound as a hardware malfunction. With overdrive you should be able to go up to max. and still not have any artifacts. Fact is that these cards can hold without artifacts up to 80C. Lets say that 90C or more is really too much. And I heard someone even pushing the card up 120C, so 60C should be the greenest possible side. RMA it.

Could it possibly be my power supply? I have 2gb of ram, 2 hard drives, a amd 3800 x2, and the card says a minimum of 450 watts is needed, I have a 450 watt psu.

Also, I tried bringing it back to the factory defaults. It didnt help, and it is not overheating. Before I rma it is there anything else that I can try? Also can this problem be related to the card possibly not being seated right?

>Also, I tried bringing it back to the factory defaults. It>didnt help, and it is not overheating. Before I rma it is>there anything else that I can try? Also can this problem be>related to the card possibly not being seated right? It's unlikely to be a seating problem - the card either works, or it doesn't if its not seated properly. But you could check the power connector is seated properly. That's a common one.Modern cards pull a lot of power and I'm not sure even a 450 watt PSU is enough for that rig. What I would do is take the rig - with FS installed - to the shop, and have them try a 550 or even 600w PSU. Run FS and see if the artifacts are gone. If they aren't, then RMA the card. Other than overheating, I can't think of anything other than a faulty power supply that might create such effects. You can also have your existing power supply tested to check whether it is actually reliably delivering its 450 watts. Power supplies do fail, and do wear out, and don't always deliver what it says on the box or the label. This could be an early warning of PSU failure.Allcott

I bought a 650 watt psu and i will see how that works out.

I certainly helped but did not fix the problem completely.
