November 2, 200619 yr I'm a bit of a technical ignoramus... Can anyone tell me the viability of using an external hard drive (via USB 2.0) to run, say, photographic scenery? Would the transfer rate be able to keep up with FSX? Is this a totally silly query?! I faint at the idea of having to install a new internal HD but it feels as though 1 million Gb is getting to be the minimum spec these days!

November 3, 200619 yr Thanks - sorry, I did search before posting but didn't find it! - in fact I have just tried again and discover that whatever I search for returns no results at all... Anyway good, I'll try it as soon as the Horizon scenery for the UK ships - the demo is brilliant.
November 3, 200619 yr Update: got home and reinstalled the Gen-X scenery demo onto the external hard disk - flies perfectly, no discernible problems. Of course it's a tiny area so it's hard to extrapolate, but the omens are good.
