AMD 4000 Sudden Low FPS PLS HELP!!!!!

Featured Replies

HiI have been running FS2004 for over a year now on an AMD4000 + Nvidia 7800GT + 2GB Corsair.... and I use PMDG 747, LDS 767, PSS 777 + Active Sky, Ultimate Terrain, Ge Pro etc.... and have had good frame rates unless I max everything..... The other day I stared the sim and had at Seattle in the VC with the LDS around 6fps!! so I checked the usual suspects like scenery library other programs but to no avail... so in the end I reformatted the drive having saved my addons reinstalled XP then FS2004 and decided to check the frames before the long process of installing all the addons, well in the default cessna at KSEA with all the sliders at default I am only getting 12-14 in the 2d and 10fps-12fps in the VC I should be getting at least 30-40 i reckon.... so it must be a hardware fault. I swopped the memory stick around changed the slot for the graphics card but no change... still very low FPS so not sure what to do next... I have not updated the bios I do not know if that would help?? Slightly unsure what it could be... is there a benchmarking program that I could try that might tell me whether the CPU or GPU are not performing??Any Ideas most appreciated

Hi hamishone thing that came to mind was Spyware..do you have a good Spyware detector..they can eat your FPS ,when running in the background just a thought. steve
