FSX Benchmarks 8800 DX10 series!

In reaction to the news at http://www.nvidia.com/object/reality_redefined.html I read somewhere that "actuaslly till the new DX10 API layer is implemented into FSX, you won't see the effects of DX10 or DX10 hardware, so no need for speculation at this point as ACES still needs to do their part for the equation."Is that true? Also, before such implementation then, will these new NVIDIA

Well read the review although it is confusing i think the short answer is the g80 wont make a lot of difference to fsx and may not when the dx10 'patch'arrives sometime in wishfull thinking year.FSX needs cpu grunt and so long as you have a half reasonable graphics card it'll be ok.A conroe e7800 extreme running at 4 gig should do the job, available mid 2008.

Thanks! What, 2008??? By then, probably another MSFS version will be in works (or still working to improve the FSX, I hope). My question then is, what kind of "giant" computers did MS use to come up with those heavenly-generated screenshots and videos with seemingly superb performance?dito

Why wait until mid 2008. Buy a phase shift cooler and freez your e6600. Getting to above 4GHz is easy. Even with air(good cooler of course), a lot people have been able to get the e6600 very close to 4GHz.

Easy. Setup the screen in low setting. Pause it, then max out your settings. Take the shot.
