Remember, DX10 card or no, Vista with DX10 or not, FSX is ONLY a DX9 game. And will remain that way until patched.Allcott

Yup, right on time :) Vista and Office are being launched officially via Microsoft's usual hyped up launch events. Sign up for one near you, because usually at these launch events you will get a copy of the software being launched :) (Remember Visual Studio, BizTalk, and SQL 2005?) Launch events start Nov 23rd and are touring the US and Canada.Anyways, yes, Vista and DX10 will be available VERY soon for the informed few... so stay informed.btw: The other poster is correct. FSX is currently an XP optimized (ha) product for DX9 based hardware. You won't see any DX10 capabilities introduced until you install the 1.3GB overhaul, er, I mean DX10 patch.

>Remember, DX10 card or no, Vista with DX10 or not, FSX is>ONLY a DX9 game. And will remain that way until patched.>>>AllcottArgh, of course. Forgot about the patch..Dx10 card, vista and the patch...wait wait wait.

If you keep a close eye on the main FSX forum you will find posts from the ACES team confirming that the patch for FSX to enable DX10 is a long way off.Presumably, even further off, now they have to devote their resources to the damage-limitation exercise of fixing the FSX-as-released with a patch early next year-ish.Basically, there are serious concerns about Vista and its activation policies, its licensing, its cost and its multiple variations that should render it irrelevant for all simmers at least until about this time next year. Given the performance fiasco that is FSX under XP/DX9, I would urge early adopters to learn from the FSX experience and stay as far away from Vista as possible until the dust settles on its many issues, and the patch for DX10 has been released and the gains for FSX users have been shown to be worth the considerable cost. Once bitten, twice shy, folks!Allcott
