FS X cancel and Windows-XP reboot - Stopp Code error

Featured Replies

Hi allI had this problem three days ago and I tried out a lot of things Microsoft tells us in the Error-Database and in an article, after three days I found it: It was really a "bad" device driver as stated in the article (but the device driver is from Microsoft, it is just a normal USB drive!!).It was my new external USB DVD-Drive I had to buy for FS X.When this drive is connected after 5, or 10 or 15 minutes the error occurs; when the drive is disconnected everything works fine! ********************************************************************SUMMARYThis article describes what to do if Microsoft Windows unexpectedly restarts or you receive a stop error message when you play or when you start any of the Microsoft games listed in the "Applies to" section.********************************************************************Greetings from Switzerland - LSZHPeter

Gruezeli Peter, two things you could maybe do; unplug the DVD and/or prevent Windows from re-booting (Control Panel --> System --> Advanced --> Startup & Recovery --> uncheck 'Automatically restart'). Hope this improves things a little, good luck and kind regards Jaap

That sounds pretty dramatic, Peter. Have you tried reinstalling the mainboard drivers or something alike? Kind regasds Jaap

Hi allSorry, it was not the external DVD drive that causes the Windows Reboot. After a lot of testing and experimenting i found out, when my system crashes:I have a 3 year old 3.2 GHZ system with a NVIDIA 66oo AGP graphic card (1 output to the Matrox TH2G,the other to a 18" display) and two PCI graphic cards with 1 display each.Using only the AGP outputs the system runs OK!Adding the two PCI adapters / displays the system crashes!I do not know why; maybee the FS X has such a heavy graphic load, because using the FS 9 the system works perfect with the AGP and the PCI adapters !Peter

NEGATIVIt was not any of the things I stated before, it wasSymantec Internet Security 2007!!! Uninstalling and my computer works fine again without error and rebooting!!!!!I hat an old version before (version 2004)and some two weeks ago I updated it with the newest version. I send a e-mail to Symantec and I will see what is the answer.Peter
