stable conroe 6600 overclocking giving weird results in FS2004

Featured Replies

I would start with your memory. Try running orthos or memtest overnight and see if you are getting any errors. If you are overclocking to that extreme and using cheap 533 value ram then you might just be choking your memory. You might also want to see if your psu is supplying enough power to the system. The more you o/c the more power the system draws and maybe your psu just isn't providing clean enough power. You don't list the brand and wattage of your psu or your memory specs so these are just the two things to start with.

What speed are you pushing your memory to? What's your FSB multiplier. I run 425MHZ FSB with a 1:1 memory multiplier (effectively 850 Mhz) using PC6400

I've got a E6600 overclocked to 3.4ghz. FSB:RAM 1:1. Made a huge difference in FSX changing from the stock 2.4 to 3.4 - much better now, I can run with 100% AI and all sliders to the left except for water which is at High 1.x Usually getting around 18-20fps at busy airports (KLAX KORD KATL). I'm running temps around 60C under full FSX load according to CoreTemp. Cheers,Kael
