December 5, 200619 yr Well folks I went out and bought FSX (and im still waiting on for my free copy of FSX from the conference) and triplehead2go and I was real encouraged to get started.I don
December 5, 200619 yr For the six computers the answers is simple: Buy six copies of FSX. Sorry, but it is completely clear in the EULA, and has been splashed all over the various forums discussing FSX that it is licensed for one computer only. From the readme .rtf"You can only install one installation of Flight Simulator X on a single computer. In other words, you cannot install Flight Simulator to one folder and then install the simulator to another folder on the same machine."If that is not acceptable to you then you should return to vendor for a refund. Nowhere does it state that FSX is designed for networked applications or multiple-computer users. You have simply exceeded the intentions of the package and, while you got away with it with FS9, MS have clearly acted to close that loophole for the new version. As for the other points you raise, others have raised them well before you. The information was all there before you went out and bought FSX, so Caveat Emptor. What you are telling us is old news. ACES are patching FSX, but unless they perform miracles there isn't the overhead, the `spare` fps, in FSX to support sophisticated addons. If they don't fix that, then FSX is dead long before the hardware to help it comes to market. What I do agree with you is that this is not an acceptable result. Now FSX is designed for Vista, it says that specifically, but even users with early RTM versions of Vista aren't seeing improved fps, instead they generally report only better smoothness, whcih helps with the experience NOW, but doesn't help with addons either. The solution is to stay with FS9 for now!Allcott
December 5, 200619 yr oh i will stay with FS9 and i know all about the info out there, and i have done my research and i dont have to like it.As i said FSX is for the average user.and once again i got no answers. because i got a fist full of cash and no one can tell me what works, and yes i may have to buy 6 copies of FSX but i will wait on a better solution.only because i have to deal with MIcrosoft.Hard core simmer.............RobertThanks..................Robert

No one can tell you what hardware you need to run FSX flat out, because it doesn't exist. And there are no `better` solutions to the six copies. That will NOT be changing.ACES have admitted they made an error, not supporting SLI and dual-core to a much greater extent. They excused themselves on the grounds that when the design decisions were made, things were much less clear.Well, BECAUSE of those incorrect decisions then, the future for all simmers, not just die-hards is unclear now and well into the future. It's a fact. You/We can't do anything about it, and we can't make a solution up for you when there isn't one, but FSX clearly won't figure in your plans as you may be certain of one thing above everything else - the first major MS patch will require Authentication, probably via Windows Genuine Advantage. So unless you have six legitimate copies of the program, you won't be getting the patch.Another fine reason for sticking with FS9.Allcott
December 6, 200619 yr Thank you Mr. Alcott for your reply, it seems i have not been in this situation before, i should have stayed with my one monitor and continued to use defalt planes.but the more i looked a lot of folks out there were moving up because they wanted more realizim.i started simming back in the ninty eight days, and even then i had no luck with Microsoft answering my questions, i / we had to research on our own to make it more real , at that time Fly 11 was out and i was injoying that alot , and at one time i was using both sims and X-plane and Microsoft had more to offer.but then Fly went away x-plane just did not have what i wanted even now x-plane is not where i want it to be.Im wishing and hoping that some of you master software writers will come up with a platform for hard-core simmers , where you create an enviroment designed just for the hard core simmer. design a plaform where everything is there except for planes .we add our own AI planes. or someone comes up with a package to add to it.add our own add-ons planes that are developed for this new platform.is that a possibility or am i dreaming, i know writing software can be hard , but are there any people out there that can answer that, what would it take , #### i will learn code and write it myself.is there somone at Microsoft so smart that he would be the only guy that knows how to do this.where did Microsoft come up with the expertize to make a flightsim.oh well just a thought , but i think i will go out and start reading up on writing software. You folks have a great day.........Robert
