Questions about HOTAS Cougar with CH Pedals

Featured Replies

Hey folks,I'm enjoying my Thrustmaster HOTAS Cougar and the CH Products Pro Pedals, but I'm also having some minor issues with it. Hopefully somebody here can help me out!First, the hard- and software setup. The Pedals are NOT USB but serial, and they are connected to my HOTAS unit. The HOTAS is USB and is directly connected to the computer. The firmware version of the HOTAS is 3.06 and I'm using the latest version of the HOTAS Cougar configuration software. So, here are my two main issues.1. The rudder input of the pedals within FS(2004) is WAY too sensitive. Barely touching a pedal causes my aircraft to immediately slide to the left or right from the centerline. I have looked, looked, tried and tried, but I have not yet been able to find a 'sensitivity' setting for my pedals. Any thoughts?2. I have also not been able to use the pedals as brakes. As you might know, there is a switch on the pedal unit, allowing the user to switch between racing/driving pedals and aircraft (rudder) pedals. In that latter setting however, the toe-brakes won't work, but I have heard people saying they are able to use the toe-brakes within FS. Any thoughts on this one are more then welcome too!besides that, the pedals in combination with the Cougar is just unbelievable and I'm very, very statisfied with them :)Thanks in advance!

Hiya..I'm not sure this will work for you?? I have the USB version of the CH pedals with the Cougar...I've installed both the CH Control Manager v4.1 software and the TM Software for the Cougar...The components are calibrated seperatly using their respective software...One other suggestion I had was...You may check these forums:http://forums.frugalsworld.com/vbb/forumdi...hp?s=&forumid=8http://cougar.frugalsworld.com/Yes...I Agree...That's a Great Set-Up!!Hope you get them going correctly!!Have Fun..

hey chuck, thanks for your answer. unfortunately, I can't use the CH Control Manager since I have the serial/non-USB version of the pedals and they are connected to my HOTAS base unit. I've tried to decrease the sensitivity of the rudders within the HOTAS Configuration thingy, but I can't seem to get it to work. Maybe I'll have to get the USB version some day!
