FSX Benchmarks

Featured Replies

Has anyone come across a PC hardware review site that uses FSX for performance benchmarks? I would think it would be a good application to use since it is so demanding. I suggested it to Tom's Hardware Guide but have not received a response. Maybe some of you have made your own comparisons and can share them here. No doubt many of us are in the process of upgrading and would fine this info useful.

Tom's Hardware Guide is a VERY biased site, take the stuff they say with a grain of salt, many already know the rep. THG has. Secondly there have been many threads about benches, performance issues and stuff reg. FSX, suggest you use the search function.

YEP i agree that FSX should be the new benchmark test. so when i see those guys talk about all those frame rates they get thru those sites that test games , tell them to put FSX in the mix and let me see how tough there machine is. who cares that you get 160 frames from DOOM and those other games.its all smoke and mirrors to sell there products , you here me you great big wonderful companies outhere, i dare you to make FSX get to just 75fps(i will go easy on ya just 75 fps).:)........Thanks just venting...........Robert

Finally, a hardware review site has included FSX in a comprehensive hardware review. HardOCP used FSX to compare the ASUS EN8800 GTX to the ATI Radeon X1950 XTX. Here's the link: http://enthusiast.hardocp.com/article.html...W50aHVzaWFzdA== . The comparison possibly would have benefitted from a more experienced FS enthusiast but I'm glad to see it in a head to head comparo. They even noted the complexities of FSX and the demands it puts on hardware. I'm sure we'll see more it in more and more comparisons.
