February 17, 200719 yr Hi guys, the noob is back needing help again!I'm almost ready to start building my new rig and have another question. The mobo is a P5N32-E SLI. I have two RAM sticks, both 1GB.I'm not sure which slots they go in.I have four slots, A1, A2, B1, B2.Clearly I will only use 2 of the avialable 4 slots for my 2 gigs of memory. The manual mentions dual channel configuration, and that in this case I must have A1+A2 = B1+B2I'm not sure if I should be using dual channel configuration or what difference it will make where the sticks go (other than if it is dual channel they need to add up the same). So, which slots do I use and which do I leave empty? My best guess would be I use A1 and B1, but I'm ignorant so please enlighten me!Many thanks as ever,Gemma
February 17, 200719 yr Thanks Jim, I'm almost there and getting excited about the build. I decided that I shouldn't compromise on my card so have an XTX Nvidia 8800GTX on the way. Just need to dry fit this one(looks from the specs that it might clash slightly with the HDD rack, but I have files and a hacksaw at the ready) once that is sorted I should be good to go with the build. Steep learning curve all of this, but a lot of fun. Thanks once again,GemmaPS my first lesson is on Tuesday at EGSL, Cessna 172 :0)
February 18, 200719 yr Good luck for the lesson on Tues. Once you're up and running the first add-on you must get is the Horizon VFR GenerationX Mesh and Scenery...I'll take some screenshots around EGSL and you can compare it to the real thing!RegardsJim
February 18, 200719 yr But remember this.If your ram is not the same, ex 2700 and 3200, the system will read the lowest. (2700).
