FS X Cockpit./Startup issues

Featured Replies

Hey everyone. Just got FS X installed, and I love it. The only problems I have, are when I load FS, and go into a flight (saved, mission, free flight doesn't matter), I see the VC show up, all grey, and I can't look outside. It's translucent. If I change planes, switch to 2D, then change planes again, I get everything. However, if I look around, it then gives me the messed up VC views. Aftermarket aircraft don't do this, just the stock. Any ideas?I'll give ya the specs of my 'puter as reported by Belarc Advisor:1.73 gigahertz AMD Athlon XP128 kilobyte primary memory cache256 kilobyte secondary memory cache480 Megabytes Installed MemorySlot 'A0' has 512 MBc: (NTFS on drive 0) 15.36 GB 8.53 GB freed: (NTFS on drive 1) 80.02 GB 42.26 GB freee: (NTFS on drive 2) 200.05 GB 193.33 GB freeS3 Graphics ProSavageDDR [Display adapter] 32 mbSamsung SyncMaster [Monitor] (17.1"vis, s/n HCHX331440, April 2004)I can't afford to upgrade anything right now, and my fps aren't bad. This problem is just real annoying and I like flying the King Air and R-22.

You just haven't got enough Video RAM to handle the level of detail. And as your graphics is on-board, your motherboard is bottlenecked. You'll have to reduce all your sliders to low or minimum to get it to display without 'messing up'.RegardsJim

I have everything on low. Any way to make virtual video ram? Kinda like system V-RAM?

No, sorry. You're trying to race the Derby on a pit pony.Allcott

Yeah, kinda what I figured after looking around Google. Eh well, guess I'll live with FS 9 for now. Thanks :)
