March 1, 200719 yr I am running FS2004 on an HP XW6000 workstation - Dual Xeon 2.4 Ghz processors, 2 meg dual channel memory and an XFX GeForce FX6200 AGP card. I get 70 to 80 FPS when running on one monitor. I decided to move my panel to 2 12" monitors and purchased a PCI MX4000 128 meg card for that purpose. I didn't think I needed much power just to run the gages. However, as soon as I hooked up the two new monitors my fps dropped to 20 to 25. Am I expecting to much from this system? Do I need to try to find a better PCI card (XW6000 does not have PCI-Express) Is there something I can tweek to try to get some of my fps back? I run my mail monitor at 1024x768 and the two smaller ones on the MX card at 1600x600 (800x600 is max for the small monitors) If I need a better card, can anyone recommend a better PCI card? The only upgrade that I could find that might help is an FX5200 with 256 megThanksJay
March 1, 200719 yr An FX6200 is positively to weak (by about 2 GPU generations) for your setup. I am surprised that you even got that good framerates on a single monitor setup.I would recommend a X1950Pro or 9800GS (~$200), which are both available as AGP cards. Or a 7600GS or X1650 (~$100), if you plan on upgrading your system within the next year.Any on them should do the job just fine and should be able to handle the higher resolutions, if you span across monitors. Here is a link with all current AGP cards:http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList....&SubCategory=48Hope this helps,Pat
March 2, 200719 yr Thanks for the info. I expect I will have to upgrade my main AGP card in the near future. But I still don't know why I should get such a big drop in fps on the main card when I hook up two monitors to the secondary card. ????Jay
