March 10, 200719 yr I had a mobo that was dead on arrival in a Mesh computer over 6 years ago. It caused me no end of grief until it was eventually replaced. They kept telling me to reinstal the OS (win98 I think) yet I couldn't even get as far as the bios either, it took months to sort out. You know the funny thing, I still use the same comp for internet connection, printer slave and general dumping area for my network to this day, never gave the slightest problem once the mobo was changed, hope you are as lucky with your replacement.
March 10, 200719 yr Good news is that if it is truly identical, you should be able to swap the hard drives and pick up right where you left off- There is almost no chance of hard drive corruption. Believe me, the eerie sounds a busted hard drive makes are very distinct.
March 10, 200719 yr According to the tech guy, the computer is identical to the one I have. So I am hoping all I need to do is swap out the HD and go.
