need help with joystick problems!!

Hi all, i recently purchased a logitech attack joysick and i am having all sorts of problems with calibrting it as it is way too sensitive to inputs....I fly the heavy metal predominantly and its just impossible to control the pitch and roll as it behves like an f-16 on steroids....is there any thing i can do? i hve tried plying with the sensitivity within he sim (FS9) as well as with logitch own software nut to no avail.....is there anything that can be done within the aircraft.cg file? i have never experiended these problems before and am at a loss as to why it is behaving this way but as of now I can't do any flying until this problem is rectified.....any on else had similar probs with this particular joystick?
