PCI Vid Card HELP!!

Featured Replies

Hey, i baught a Radeon X1300 PCI 256 MB graphics card, yes, pci, not pci-e. I thought it would make FSX run better than my onboard video card, but it sucks!!! I cant play with any autogen, and i cant fly at any big airports or i get about 2-3 FPS with everything lowered. Is there anything i can do, because i only have PCI and PCI-e x1 slots on my mobo.

I have used PCI cards to replace onboard video in the past and, altough not perfect, they did make marked improvement for me. Did you look in your mobo BIOS settings to see if you needed to disab;e the onboard video and/or enable the PCI video? You say that you are only getting 2-3 FPS now, were you getting more FPS with the onboard video? And a final question, Your post suggests that your mobo has a PCIe slot, if true, I believe that would be a better coice than a PCI card. I'm currently using a X1300 Pro 256 MB PCIe card and it's not too bad.R-

Thanks for the advice! Anyways, i get 2-3 FPS when i have ANY autogen on or i am near any big airport. I can only fly at small aiports. Anyways, i have disabled my onboard video, and with the onboard video, i could play with medium autogen and high scenery complexity, and still get around 12 FPS, but it also had a bunc of errors, like black triangles every time ur about to land os you cant see the runway, and i do have a PCIe, but its only PCIe X1, not x16, like almost all the cards are made for, there are only about two PCIe cards for x1. Alsot, how do i go into my BIOS and when i do what should i do??
