AMD Dual Core Optimizer

This post only applies to the AMD Dual Core chips using Windows XP.There is an issue (bug) with Windows XP not efficiently utilizing the cores in the AMD Dual Core processors. Here is the skinny on that issue...."The AMD Dual-Core Optimizer can help improve some PC gaming video performance by compensating for those applications that bypass the Windows API for timing by directly using the RDTSC (Read Time Stamp Counter) instruction. Applications that rely on RDTSC do not benefit from the logic in the operating system to properly account for the affect of power management mechanisms on the rate at which a processor core's Time Stamp Counter (TSC) is incremented. You will see a folder for AMD. Go into the folder, click on the icon and it will optimize if the setup.exe didn't do it for you. Its quick, and you won't see anything happening thinking that nothing has happened, but it has.
