June 18, 200718 yr I just upgraded my Asus 128MB 6600GT to an XFX 256MB 8600GT. No, it's not the GTS or 8800GTX, but it's all I need...or so I thought. I was so excited to see a huge difference in my sim...didn't happen. We went the opposite direction! I was getting better images with my 6600GT. I've got AA turned up to 8x, Force Mipmaps to Trilinear and AF set to 8x, etc, etc. What the heck am I doing wrong? I've been messing with the settings for over an hour and can't get the jaggies to go away!! I'm running Forceware drivers 158.22. I'm so bummed that I'm even thinking of putting my 6600GT back in! Anybody got any advice?Sorry for hurting the eyes...http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/173953.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/173954.jpg-Mike
June 18, 200718 yr Looks like your running 800X600 Screen resolution, are you? If so, Try increasing it. That should help.
June 18, 200718 yr SS-This shot was actually taken at 1280x1024x32. I'm such a dork. Must've been tired last night. The only thing I didn't try was the "Application Controlled" feature, then checked the Antialiasing box in the sim. It used to be unchecked to allow the card's software do the job...long story short, the jaggies are gone. Thanks for the advice, though! -Mike
June 18, 200718 yr Couple of advices:1) clean up all drivers you are running (driver cleaner, google it)2) install whatever is recommended from nvidia (sorry, not nvidia pro, i am an ati-fan :))3) delete your fs9.cfg (or is it fsx.cfg?)4) start FS - set your desired resolution (eg. 1280x1024)5) now go into driver settings and bump all your desired settings6) depending what you are running, FS9 or FSX, in FS9 turn off AA and set trilinear, and if in FSX, set AA to on, and filtering anisotropicHope it helps.
