Question about configuring my Saitek Pro Flight System

Featured Replies

I just bought the Saitek Pro Fligh Yoke System and so far am impressed with the feel of it but i have some question about programming it.1) I want to assign the the 6 buttons on the throttle quad to control autopilot. The AutoPilot Engage/Disengage works fine, but i want 3 of the other buttons to engage the heading, nav, and alt modes, and the remaining two to move the heading bug. The options in the FSX setup let me set it so that when i hit the button it engages, for example, alt hold mode. That is it holds that altitude that the plane is at when the button is hit, not the alt set in the autopilot. Similarily the heading mode, when engaged holds current heading, not where the bug is set. How do i get this to do what i want?2) The throttle lever works on the quadrant, but the prop and mixture controls dont seem to do anything. Do i need to map them somehow?3) Is there any application that allows me to change what is displayed on the LCD? I was thinking maybe airspeed, or distance to next waypoint, or even DME would be really neat. Thanks Guys.

Because I don't have this yoke and TQ I can't answer most of your questions but for Q2, have you checked the axis assignments under the Options menu in flt sim? With my CH yoke and pedals, flt sim (any version) tends to misidentify the various axes. For example the default axis assignments usually assign the rudder axis to the mixture lever. Therefore each time I reinstall the controller(s) or let FS build a new config file, I must go in and manually reassign the axes.R-
