November 27, 200718 yr Does anyone know why when I'm flying the default Baron or Bell 206 at night with Acceleration loaded and "DX10 Preview" ticked, my nav lights dont show up ? In spot view I can see the red or green coloured reflection on the fuselage side, or wing tips but I cant see the actual lights. No strobes, no flashing anti-collision beacon on the tail. I can see landing lights from head-on when I put the Baron wheels down. Have no other add-on software loaded at the moment apart from the Eaglesoft Twin Comanche, Carenado Skylane (which just shows white under DX10)and Alphasim Hudson.I've updated the drivers (to 7.15.11.128 dated 11/05/2007)from the Sony Vaio site for the NVidia 8800 card in my Sony Vaio Vista notebook. When I untick the "DX10 Preview" box, everything shows up fine again. Daytime flights with DX10 selected are OK. Any ideas, please. I'm a bit in the dark, here.ThanksSteviejo
November 27, 200718 yr Hi,I've got the same problem and posted about this in the FSX forum some time ago. Never got any response. But I read some where that "DX10 Preview" is exactly what it's called, only a preview of what a FS could look like running in DX10 mode. I allways run FSX in DX9 mode to avoid problems with some add ons and the missing nav and strobe lights. I hope that it's a driver issue that'll be fixed soon, because I like the water reflections in DX10 mode.Ulf BCore2Duo X6800, 4GB RAM, BFG 8800GTXCreative SB X-Fi (Gamer mode)Vista 32, FSX Acc/SP2
November 27, 200718 yr Hi Ulf,Thanks for the response. Its helpful to know someone else has the same problem. I did do a quick search before posting but must have missed yours. I agree about the DX10 water reflections - thats my favourite aspect too - although the whole thing somehow seems that bit better with DX10. But I guess if I can only see the benefit during daytime then it doesnt matter if I have to use DX9 at night (I suppose). I understand about the "Preview" now - but that wasnt what I expected - and wasnt what I waited, saved up and spent a lot of money on my new Vaio for.(And thats after I bought a new Hewlett Packard before that to get rid of the "blurries" when FSX first came out). I guess I must learn to control my expectations ! Happy (simulated) landings Steviejo
