RENDERING with New 8800GT

Featured Replies

I am see a rendering issue with my new card as if one was to look at a terminal from inside say a PMDG cockpit the AI will be grey for a split second b4 filling in the livery. If I sit there for a bit and look again the same thing will occur.I am using the 169.04 did use the .02 andd .09 but found this one to be the most stable.Running FS9 Sp1 and XP SP2 no N-HANCER.Had a 7900KO b4 this and was great.8800GT is great but I cannot figure out how to optimize the GPU RAM so it keeps image longer so it does not need to re-render after as a Fn of time.AF :16XGamma Correction:offAA Mode:is override appAA @ 8XAA Transparency:SupersamplingConformant Texture Clamp:Use HardwareError Report:offExtension Limit:offForce mipmaps:noneMulti Dispaly:Running 2 in dual mode different resStereo-Display mode:use vertical interlace monitorTexture Filter AA Sample opt:offTexture filtering-neg LOD bias:clampTexture filtering quality:qualitytexture filtering: Trilenear opt:offThreaded opt:offTripple buffering:offVertial sync: use 3D app settingFS9 Config[DISPLAY.Device.NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT.0]Mode=1280x1024x32TriLinear=1[DISPLAY]UPPER_FRAMERATE_LIMIT=25TEXTURE_BANDWIDTH_MULT=360RUNWAY_LIGHTS_SURFACE_SCALAR=1.1 RUNWAY_LIGHTS_VASI_SCALAR=1.2RUNWAY_LIGHTS_APPROACH_SCALAR=1.2RUNWAY_LIGHTS_STROBE_SCALAR=1.3[TERRAIN]TERRAIN_ERROR_FACTOR=100.000000TERRAIN_MIN_DEM_AREA=10.000000TERRAIN_MAX_DEM_AREA=100.000000TERRAIN_MAX_VERTEX_LEVEL=19TERRAIN_TEXTURE_SIZE_EXP=8TERRAIN_AUTOGEN_DENSITY=5TERRAIN_USE_GRADIENT_MAP=1TERRAIN_EXTENDED_TEXTURES=1TERRAIN_DEFAULT_RADIUS=0.000000TERRAIN_EXTENDED_RADIUS=0.000000TERRAIN_EXTENDED_LEVELS=232[sCENERY]IMAGE_COMPLEXITY=5DYNAMIC_SCENERY=1DYN_SCN_DENSITY=5DAWN_DUSK_SMOOTHING=0SUNGLARE=0LENSFLARE=1[GRAPHICS]FULL_SCREEN=0PERFORMANCE_MODE=0DEF_PERF_MODE=6TEXT_SCROLL=1AUTO_LOD=0DETAIL_TEXTURE=2WATER_EFFECTS=1TERRAIN_USE_VECTOR_MAP=1TERRAIN_USE_VECTOR_OBJECTS=1EFFECTS_QUALITY=2GROUND_SHADOWS=0SMOOTH_VIEW=1IMAGE_SMOOTHING=1TEXTURE_MAX_LOAD=1024COCKPIT_HIGH_LOD=0AIRCRAFT_SHADOWS=0LANDING_LIGHTS=1IMAGE_QUALITY=0TEXTURE_BLDG=1TEXTURE_GND=1TEXTURE_WATER=1AIRCRAFT_TEXTURE=2SEE_SELF=1TEXTURE_QUALITY=3LOD_TARGET_FPS=17NUM_LIGHTS=6Thanks in AdvanceAndy

oops(DISPLAY.Device.NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT.0)thanksAndy

Any help out there these days???Thanks in advanceAndy

I think this delay in textures 'filling in' in pretty common - if I'm understaning you correctly - I find some VC's 'fill in' faster than others for some reason, leaving them grey for a moment. It happened with my 7600 and my 8800gt.

Thanks but it seems to me that my 7900 retained things in memory much longer before it was swapped as opposed to the 8800gt which is beyond me since one was 256 and the 8800 is 512.It must be how the newer drivers utilize the on board memory.Andy
