December 30, 200718 yr Hi all,I have a small problem and I believe its with anti-aliasing. First to make my problem claer to you I have two screenshots. This is how textures (look at the cross on the tail) look like when viewing the aircraft in horizontal position...http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/182596.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/182597.jpgAnd this is how textures look like (again, take a look at the cross) when I view the aircraft in other than horizontal positions...http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/182600.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/182599.jpgI never had these kind of problems before in fs9. They just popped up out of nowhere. I tried searching different forums for a solution but never found one that really cured this problem. My specs are:AMD FX-55ASUS A8N-SLI moboASUS X850 XT PE videocardI run FS9 in 1280x1024x32 resolution (same as my desktop resolution) with 6x AA, 16 AF, temporal AA, and supersampling. I tried to see if altering these options etc might do some good, and I even played with setting in FS9 itself, but that never worked. So my question to you guys is if someone knows the solution to this problem or any particular setting of the videocard that solves this problem. greetings, Rick.
December 31, 200718 yr I never had these kind of problems before in fs9. They just popped up out of nowhere. Not sure I'd concur that the problem just popped up out of nowhere. Something had to cause it. Challenge is in finding the source.Tweakguides is the definitive guide for tweaking ATI cards. If all else fails clean the system of the current drivers (using DriverCleaner) and install the 6.12's. Then configure the drivers per Tweakguides using your preferred tweaking program.Good luck,
January 1, 200818 yr Well, I think I found the solution to my problem. First I need to create mipmaps for al the textures of aircraft I fly + I have to set mipmapping to 4 in FS. This solves the problems. This is really weird because some time ago I had to delete al mipmaps from the aircraft textures in order to get crisp and clear textures and now I just have to do the opposite to gain the same effect. I guess that this problem is caused by the way the different drivers work? If someone has any suggestions or answers to this question I would like to know. All of this causes some minor issues to emerge like having to zoom in completely and than zoom back out before I kan see sharp textures on the aircraft (this was the most important reason of getting rid of the mipmips a while ago as I mensioned earlier). I don't know if some one knows a solution to this new problem that emerged (whithout getting rid of the mipmaps off course)?Grtz, Rick.
