TI4600 & FS2K2 Settings

Recommended Posts

Guest rbbarker

I have the GeForce TI4600 (all specs available through my website below) and am wondering how other users have configured their hardware settings. Specifically I am concerned with Anti-Aliasing and Antiscopic (SP?) Filtering. I have both of them 'off' through the sound card and anti-aliasing enabled in FS2K2. Is this the optimum setting? Should I use AA through the card and not FS2K2? Do I need to use the Filtering as well? Hi Boyd, I'm not sure your question can really be answered by anyone but you. It depends on what is more important to you. For example, eye candy or FPS. Every computer seems to be different depending on the programs installed and all seem to act somewhat differently. Also, other factors such as screen resolution can affect these properties. Personally, I run at 1022x1200x32 with AA full max (Ti4600/128mb), and allow the anistrophy to be set by the game. It looks great and runs fine on my computer.dek

Hi Boyd, that is correct. I use RIVAtuner and set the AA to 4xS with AA turned on in FS2002.I have the anistropy set in RIVAtuner to "determined by..." and set to trilinear in FS2K.I find that I get very little improvement in visuals, with a big loss in performance, when using the higher levels of anistrophy. This is really a matter of what works for me.Hope this helps, dek
