February 12, 200818 yr Hi everyone, ive just been looking at some info on overclocking etc. and i just found a thread on xtremesystems about how to find a great proccesor. Here is the thread: http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=167336as you will notice the little code on the back of the processor ended with "00" None of the other numbers matter. Just check the last 2 numbers. If they are below 15 you have got a fantastic processor. The guy with the "00" processor hit 4.93GHz on air does that prove it or what? Another guy then posted saying his had a 73 at the end. He could only hit 4-4.2GHz on Air/Water cooling. Another example was explained about two X6800s that were identical except for those numbers. One reached 5.4GHz while the other one only reached 5GHz. I also checked mine. It was below 15. Lucky.....I recommend buying from a retaailer and asking the shopkeeper to open the bboxed processor and having a look at the code. If it is below 15, get it. If it is not either get the shop guy to open some more or just go with what you get.Jourdog.
