Ready for Pushback & Slew Mode

Featured Replies

Hi all, I don't get a chance to spend all the time required in one sitting to scan the full Ready for Pushback documentation so I try to read a little, try a little, etc, so if the answer to this is obvious, or hidden right in front of my face, I apologize. It seems when I load the 747-200 in a Cold and Dark state (out of box, not previously saved by me), and go into Slew Mode, when I come out of Slew, the aircraft has engines running and it high tails it across the field at a fairly high rate of speed (she hasn't left the ground yet). If I lean on the brakes I can bring her to a stop, but by then I'm a good several miles from the airport. It also seems to mess with the joystick axis's, the rudder, ailerons, and speed brakes tend to have a mind of their own. I can see this visually from spot view (very little rudder travel, and it can jerk back to neutral with no cooresponding input, left side speed brakes remain up, very little aileron travel), I have not actually gotten the plane in the air yet to see if the joystick is actually messed up. All other aircraft seem OK. Anyone else seen these, and is there a way to stop this from happening?PS - I am starting from SimFlyers Newark, I have not tried a 'default' airport yet.Dell 8250 - 2.53 P4512 RAMGeForce 3

why not just use Shift + P for pushback. tons better then slewing

If, in the process of slewing, your wheels leave the ground (even slightly), Flight Sim will attempt to put your aircraft in motion in such a way that you won't stall upon coming out of slew. SO... Hit the A key and make sure you're on the ground before ending slew mode and your plane should stay put.

jerrycwo4This (hitting the "A" key) might be the answer I've been looking for. Sometimes when I start a new flight and forget to select a gate, I'm positioned at the end of a runway and I normally SLEW to a gate. Most of the time the SLEW works correctly as I SLEW with out raising the AC OFF of the ground. Sometimes when I hit the "Y" key to take it OUT of the SLEW mode, as you say, the plane TAKES off like a rocket !!! I NEVER could figgure out why sometimes this happens and sometimes it does not. From now on I'll press the "A" key BEFORE taking the AC out of the SLEW mode. Thanks for the infojerry
