March 28, 200818 yr OK, Got the new card and everything installed. I am in flightsim nirvana for about 10 minutes. THEN, the sim starts to "lurch" Meaning that the video isn't smooth anymore. My FPS are up to about 50 or so but the ground doesn't go by smooth. Changed settings from one extreme to another and it has no effect. If I reboot and go back into the sim, it's good for about 10 minutes then starts to lurch again, and gradually gets worse to the point of it being un-flyable. Is this a RAM setting problem?TurnipSPECS:VISTA Home Basic 580 WATT Sunbeam PowerCrucial Ballistix 4GB(2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAMASUS P5N-E SLI LGA 775 NVIDIA nForce 650i SLI ATX Intel Motherboard Intel Core 2 Duo E6550 Conroe 2.33GHz LGA 775 65W Dual-Core Processor Model BX80557E6550Sapphire ATI 3870SB LIVE 24250 GB WD SATA HD 120 GB WD IDE HD[/url]
March 31, 200818 yr Hi,I'll assume, for the sake of brevity, that you refer to the ATI 3870 having been installed. Did you create a new FS9.cfg after the graphics card installation? Try deleting your FS9.cfg (make a copy first, just in case). The next time you start FS it will detect your new card and build a new cfg file. It's always a good idea to load to the default flight when you do this. FS saves the cfg file every time you close the sim so, you won't see the new FS9.cfg file until you exit again. Buliding a new cfg file seems to solve about 80% of the problems I've had over the years.Hope it helps.Regards,Jeff
