Anyone Having Experience with this Card

Featured Replies

VisionTek Radeon Quad HD2600XT (1GB, PCI-Express, Quad Display Support) This seems intriguing for multi-monitor support. I see it listed for $349. I have FS9 on a P4 3.4Ghz with 1 Gig Ram and currently a Radeon ATI x1300 512 dual display card. Runs fine.Thinking of upping to 2 Gigs RAM also.Is this card hype??

How many monitors do you have? This card might be a good choice for anyone needing quad monitor support for doing tasks like CAD, photo editing, etc. But for gaming the 2600XT's feature list is limited by today's standards. For instance it has 1/2 the Texture Fill Rate and Memory Bandwidth of the 3870... and the 3870 can be bought for 1/2 the price of the Quad 2600XT. No matter how many monitors are hooked up to a video card used for gaming the first priority should be moving data as quickly as possible... and the 2600XT comes up short in that area today. At the low prices memory is fetching these days the extra Gig of system RAM is a good idea. Indeed you could buy another Gig of RAM and a 3870 for less than $350.Hope this helps,

Greg;I have two now running on a Radeon X1300 dual display and it works great. I have a Gateway 820GM system and just found out I cannot add a second video card to the motherboard.Oh well, two monitors for now. I added two more Gigs of RAM to take me to three so that is something.I suppose just to get the thrird monitor I will eed to buy a whole new rig and start over. Not really worth it right now.John
