Any advantage with 2 hard drives?

Featured Replies

I am building a new computer for FSX. The components arrived today and I now realise I ordered a 250GB hard drive instead of a 500GB (a slip of the mouse!) Is it worth while keeping the 250GB drive for just Win XP and install FSX and all additional flight sim related files (scenery etc) on the 500GB drive, or any other combinations? I'm sure I've read somewhere that this has its advantages. If there's not much point I'll post it back tomorrow. Thanks for your help

You will get varried answers on that......But I have my OS and FSX on 150G RaptorAnd all other stuff on 250 G sata along with FS9 and it works great...It comes in real handy for defragging your OS and FSX which need it often..Quick is the key here...I keep all programs on second drive..virus...Spysweeper..Gamemarks..Testing ...defraggers..Everything but OS and FSXHope this helps...

I have a external drive that I downloaded all my paywares to. Then as I have time, burned them to disc.A few weeks ago I had a total HD failure with a Raptor 150.Having all my $$$$$ files on the external drive made it easy to recover.I hate having all my eggs in one basket.I once had my vr memory on a second drive. It was supposed to keep the main drive from getting defragged and run better but I saw no diffence.
