Angles are not smooth, can anyone help?

Featured Replies

Hello everyoneI am having a problem with Flight Sim where the angles are not smooth on aircraft and scenery. The best way to descibe this is when you are looking at the aircraft from the exterior the wing does not appear as a straight smooth line, but is instead broken into many sections. I do not know if this is normal. It happened on my old pc but I just built a new system and hoped that with the upgrade it would go away but it hasnt. I have Athlon 2600+, ATI Radeon 9500 Pro, and 512 MB Corsair DDR400. I have all scenery options turned and put to the max. I thought that Amti-liasing was supposed to help smooth angles. Please help if you can.

HMMM, First thing's first,I know little about the ATI cards, but the description certainly sounds like an AA problem/misconfiguration...You seem to be describing the "Staircase" effect. On booting up,goto your Bios, usually by pressing F8/F12 and check what the settings are under the AGP settings, ensure AGP AA is set to at least 4X if your Card can handle it. Also update your Drivers.Checking the ATI website could share some light on the Subject. Sorry I couldnt be of any more help ;)John Mc AvinueEINN/BAV 855Senior captainhttp://www.bavirtual.co.ukP 2.53 GHZ512 RAMWINXPGFORCE 4 128MB Ti4600

Thanks, I'll try that, but to clarify, the "staircase effect" is EXACTLY what I am getting! I HATE IT!!
