GA MAKER troubles

Featured Replies

I must be dense. I for the life of me can not get this working.OK, here is what I've done; :-grr- Used GA MAKER to build the plans. It told me I had to add a list of airports that were not usable. I did that.- I added the airports both manually and also used the CollectAirports.exe in TTools.- I used AFCAD to make sure all the airports had towers and also made sure they had tower freqs.- I used AITM to check using the analize feature to see if I was missing anything. Airports came up clear, aircraft came up clear. I check the plans for my airport and it shows them there.OK what the heck am I missing? I followed the GA MAKER instructions very closely for installation. All seems to be in order but still no GA Traffic.http://www3.telus.net/dport1/Radar_small.gifRC3 - Just gotta' have it!http://www3.telus.net/dport1/Radar_small.gifhttp://www3.telus.net/dport1/dansig.jpg

The only thing that you didn't mention is cutting and pasting the plans made by GA Maker into flightplans.txt and then compiling with ttools.

You don't mention it, so I have to ask: you are recompiling the traffic.bgl file, aren't you?Assuming you are, I would decompile traffic.bgl once more and see if the flightplans you have created are in it.A couple of other things to check:1. Assuming you are accepting GA_Maker's default AI setting of 75%, is your AI slider in FS2002 at that level or higher?2. GA_Maker creates more complex flightplans than you'll find in the default traffic.bgl, e.g. flightplans with intermediate destinations. Do be sure that the intermediate destinations have towers also. With the .6 update of GA_Maker, it will read its own GA_Tower.txt file for airports to use when creating flightplans. I use it with only the airports in it for which I want to create flightplans. I make sure those airports have tower frequencies (towers are not necessary). This way I for sure get flightplans that work. Finally, I use a little module called "AI Tactical Display" to see what AI traffic is running inside the sim. Gives me a good idea of how successful I've been.-Basil
