QX9650 vs Q9650

Featured Replies

Given that the idea of building a server machine for FSX is not worthy, I am now debating if I should buy the intel QX9650 or save some money and buy the Q9650.I am actually running an overclocked watercooled system and my intention is to overclock the new system as well.Anybody as any experience with these two cpu with FSX?Thank you.pap

The Q9650 is E0 stepping and 95W TDP. It's the cherry of the Intel crop so far. In my opinion, the only advantage to the QX would be the unlocked multiplier. I just put in a Q9650 and I'm really liking it so far (see my thread above). I'm going for 4GHz stable-we'll see.I think with the Q9650, there's no more need for the QX9650.-jk
