January 17, 200323 yr We are pleased to announce that Weather Center now includes support for FSFlightMax through the creation of .MET files. This new support has been introduced with Weather Center v1.3, released Jan 17.For information on Weather Center version 1.3, please visit:http://www.simulationwidgets.com.For our step-by-step guide for configuring both Weather Center and FSFlightMax, please visit:http://www.simulationwidgets.com/fsflightm...ility_howto.htmKeithKeith KileSimulation Widgetshttp://www.simulationwidgets.com
January 17, 200323 yr Hi, Already the best weather generator for fs2002 with unique feature, and I am sure many update comings and for futur years. It is possible to include all FSW clouds, maybe you can contact Chris Willis ?Martin
January 17, 200323 yr Martin,We'll make a point of taking a closer look at FSW. Most of my screenshots were taken with FSW cloud textures, and I think they look wonderful! http://www.simulationwidgets.com/Screenshots.htmFrom Weather Center's point of view, FSW is a texture replacement program, and Weather Center's job is to make sure it chooses the proper cloud type for the observed surface conditions. If there is more to it, then we may have to make ourself more current with what FSW offers!Weather Center does take advantage of the various cloud types that Flight Simulator uses. For instance, if TCU or CU is at the end of a cloud description field in a METAR (e.g. BKN050TCU), then cumulus clouds are used. For clouds that are around areas of convection, such as thunderstorms, we use the Nimbus type. Clouds above FL400 are assigned the cirrus type. Fog can be configured to use cirrus or stratus. I believe FSUIPC can inject the high level cirrus clouds and jet-trail textures itself, so we left that feature out of Weather Center.Thank you for the suggestion.Keith
