This is a SLACR/GO Q6600 CPU, right? Good, now update the bios. Go to the Asus site and download the latest bios for your mobo. The easiest way to update is this: Load the bios onto a USB drive. Boot the computer with the USB drive in a USB slot and go into the bios. There is a bios update tab. Go there and select the USB drive and the bio file. Update. Now, leave everything alone . . . except change the FSB to 350 (to start) and Vcore to 1.45 volts. 1.4 vCore is not enough. For DDR2 ram, manually set Vram to 2.2v. Recheck all volts in the bios before boot, then immediately after boot with Everest. vCore will never be what you set. Don't trust the vCore bios setting. Remove 2 of those 2G sticks to start. Only boot with 2x2G sticks.Check that temps and vcore is under control. Once you get it running take the FSB to 400.

dear D17Su told me once to set my fbs to 400 and my voltage to 1.45 and my computer on restart get black screeni did try to set my fbs to 400 and my cpu ration to 8x and my voltage to 1.4 my computer start but after 20 min i got a blue screennow u are telling me to set my fbs to 350 and my voltage cpu to 1.45 and my cpu ratio to 8 so i will get here 350x8= 2.8if i wanna have 3.2 what setting should i go for u have my bios setting up there so plz write front of each one what should i putand u were saying to change my vram to 2.2 what do u mean by vram is the same of nb voltage or what thanxwhen i run everest what should i apply to see if my overclock is good or stable and what is goona be the safe temp for cpu

Yea, but something is not right. Let's back up and start slow. Update the bios first. That will reset everything and provide the latest and most stable starting point. Follow the previous post's outline. 350x - 9 - is a good starting point. Nine is the default multiplier. There will be a Dram volts setting. Auto should set that to 2.2v, but make sure by manually setting it yourself. Everest has a System Stability function under Tools. Run that and watch temps and volts. If if runs, you're OK.

What is the highest stable OC you've gotten, OP? or are you just trying random numbers and not increasing things incrementally?

The Q6600/GO runs at 3.6Ghz . . . all else willing. Mine's been there since inception. Starting slow, then initiating incremental increases on an iffy system is just a normal sequence. How's it goin?
