Missing RUNFGFS.BAT

Featured Replies

I'd like to run FGFS from a DOS command line. The DOCS mention a file called RUNFGFS.BAT. Does anyone know where to get it since its not in the latest download.I've tried to to type in "FGFS" but it does nothing.Nick P.

Try typing "FGRUN" from the command line. This is the file thats run from the desktop shortcut. It should work as I just tried it and it loaded the program. Full path is at:C:Program filesFlightGearbinwin32fgrun.exe

Yes, FGRUN works just fine. However, its the WIZARD which I want to bypass. The contents of RUNFGFS.BAT will show me the format required to manually run FGFS.Thanks...NickP

Just run the fgfs.exe program. It should run fine with no options and start up the Cessna 172 at SFO. You can pass --help to get an exhaustive list of command line options.

Thanks for the suggestions, but I've tried all that. I'm running it on Nt2000 and XP. When I try to run FGFS.exe from a DOS window, nothing happens! It returns the command prompt. I've tried all the command line switches. Now the FGRUN.exe wizard doesn't help at all. After I answer YES to overwiting the CFG, a DOS window pops up and then closes.I'm stuck going nowhere fast.Any suggestions?Nick P.

I'm having exactly the same problem, down to the smallest detail Nick provided, with Win XP Home.

I'm having the exact problem also. Some help finding the solution would be great.

Been there, done that. The fgrun wizard takes me back to itself when I answer yes to overwiting the cfg file. Fgfs.exe is similarly less than effective. Any suggestions for W2K gratefully accepted. I guess I could configure a Linus box.CheersJim

Hi all, just downloaded the 0.94 package exe, and me too experiencing exactly same problem. My system: XP pro, Athlon XP1800+, GeForce4 64MB, 780 MB RAM.Maybe the setup-0.9.4.exe is not a stand-alone program and it requires an already installed version? Please, if anyone have an advice, just reply :)

After some trials, I managed to run the program!!!Here is what I did (don't know which part is the key-part, so I describe all):1) completely disinstall the game (includind the folder in c:/documents and settings/user/application data/flightgear)2) deactivate the antivirus (I use Antivir)3) re-install the game by means of the setup-fgfs0.9.4.exe file4) after the choice of plane and airport, DON'T OPEN the "ADVANCED" dialogue5) when asked for rewriting the cinfiguration, click Yes6) in 2-3 seconds, the game start as a windowGood luck to all the people who suffered the same problem
