October 17, 200421 yr ok. there *is* a way to fly it, but it takes some doingfirst, while the program is loading (not to your plane yet but everythings loading) you start pressing Shift + } to increase your magneto, keep doing this, it will keep the engine trying to start, then you very quickly release the brake (shift+:( and up your throttle.I flew this plane through my normal places and I don't like it, it's slow, and the sound of the engine is really annoying. If you want to fly something good, try the P51, American born, American bred
October 18, 200421 yr The developer for the Spitfire, Vivian M., has created a patch for the problem. However, it seems to be only available at the CVS.I am having issues with my Linux box at the moment, thus I am unable to contact the FlightGear developers. As soon as I get those issues resolved, I will ask Vivian to send me the patch as a .zip archive so I can post it here.
October 24, 200421 yr Here is the patch from Vivian:Windows users can grab the zip file here:http://www.cs.yorku.ca/~cs233144/Spitfire.zipFor Linux users, the tar.gz file can be obtained from here:http://myweb.tiscali.co.uk/vmeazza/FlightG...spitfire.tar.gz
