Joystick axises

Featured Replies

Hi,I would like to try Flight gear on my generic turboprop home cockpit. The first problem is related to the joystick axises.I have 13 axises running under windows 2000 using betainnovations Plasma USB card.I have following axisesAileronElevatorRudderThrottle 1Throttle 2Prop1Prop2Fuel Lever 1Fuel Lever 2Flaps leverElevator trimAileron TrimRudder Trim. All those axises are recognized by MSFS and X-Plane ( beside Flaps)How can I get all those axises work into Flight Gear? I tried the joystick utility and it went wrong because the utility is programmed to recognise first the elevator which is for instance not on my joystick 0 but on joystick 1. Is there a kind of CFG file where all those axises can be programmed??Other question: Is there a way to use for instance the Beech99 instruments on one computer and the visual on the other ???Would in that case the instruments run as "standalone" or may I have to run the all thing ??? Currently I do use MSFS and Project Magenta Old Efis ( T layout 1er generation B737-300 GC). PM works wonderfull but I would love so much ride of the crappy "Gates Junk". Xplane would be possible but there is no Project Magenta Like software available or then Open GC which cannot suit my cockpit panel which looks like the B737-300 or Dash8.Thanks for all comments and suggestionsSeason GreetingsRoger

Is there a>kind of CFG file where all those axises can be programmed??Yes, there are configuration files for various joysticks. They can be found in $FG_ROOT/data/Input/Joysticks.If betainnovations is a brand of joysticks, its configuration file can't be found in the folder. You may have to run fgjs, edit the configuration file yourself, and place it in the joysticks folder. There is a section in the documentation that tells you how to create a configuration file for your joystick: http://flightgear.org/Docs/InstallGuide/ge...tml#x9-460004.5>Other question: >>Is there a way to use for instance the Beech99 instruments on>one computer and the visual on the other ???>Would in that case the instruments run as "standalone" or may>I have to run the all thing ??? Yes, the instruments seem to be able to run as "standalone" on different monitors than that of the scenery... that's what I gathered from various pictures. You may want to ask your questions on the developers' mailing list, since you will definatley be able to get the help you need there.
