Doing crazy things in FlightGear

Featured Replies

Hi everyone! :-waveI think FlightGear is the greatest open-source flight sim ever! And it amazing how much stuff you can do. I tried to do some crazy things and ended up landing Eurocopter on the Golden Gate bridge (if I'm not mistaken) in SF!:-yellow1http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/101840.jpgHas anyone else tried crazy stuff like this?

hmm... I thought one can't "collide" with objects in FlightGear.

You can colide with scenery objects which are on the hitlist. You can't collide with AI objects.

Hi there,Yes, everytime I start the sim crazy stuff happens. That might bebecause I'm new to the thing, but the most mad moment I've had wasembedding the an225 on the big TV mast above the hills of San Fran...Kinda looked like a giant an225 statue... :-)Take-offs I'm fine, setting altitude and heading etc...are fine, butcan someone please tell me how to land the silly thing? I'm trying theYasim 747 and it seems to behave weirdly (spinning without reason andheading earthward) on approach with flaps extended, gear down, and theknottage around 150-170...Kind regards,Chris, Brisbane.

That sounds like you exceeded the flaps' speed limit.
