flys Wright Brothers Craft only!

Featured Replies

I need some help getting Win 2000 to simulate other aircraft.I'm running Win2K with AMD 1ghz chip, 256 meg ram AVI Rage 128 video board with 36 meg onboard. The simulator came up and I selected the Wright brother's craft thinking it would be the easiest to fly. The simulator ran without error. I then loaded up the Boeing 737 and discovered that the simulator would not run past the aircraft selection. (See error message below) If I selected my original choice of the Wright Brothers craft then the simulator loaded and performed without fail. I tried other aircraft (Beech 99, 747, B52 and others) same condition appears were the simulator will not run. The flight window comes up, the CMD line window comes up, the PC audio beeps rapidly and then the CMD window spits out the following text messages before it quickly blanks out.Warning: ssgLoadTexture: cannot determine file type for c:/program files/flight gear/data/F00Fatal error: failed to gen source(received from)At this point I'm left with the craft selection (Wizard) window were I can select the Wright craft and run the simulator or select any other craft and have it fail. Yes, I have tried changing the texture selection and minimizing all display features and it's had no effect on the problem. Has any one else seen this condition and if so can you offer a solution.Vince

Thanks for your help with FlightGear. I ran with your suggestion and down loaded the latest driver for my audio device. I have a CMI 8737/C3DX audio device on my mother board. After the download the device manager on Win2K reads as driver ID - C- Media 7/16/2002 Version 5.12.1.639 Digital Signer - Microsoft CompatibleAfter that driver update I reran Fight Gear and nothing has changed. If I selected my original choice of the Wright Brothers craft then the simulator loaded and performed without fail. I tried other aircraft (Beech 99, 747, B52 and others) same condition appears were the simulator will not run. The flight window comes up, the CMD line window comes up, the PC audio beeps rapidly and then the CMD window spits out the following text messages before it quickly blanks out.Warning: ssgLoadTexture: cannot determine file type for c:/program files/flight gear/data/F00Fatal error: failed to gen source(received from)I also tried deleting the sound selection in the features setup. Still the only simulator that will load up is the Wright Brothers Craft. Do you have any other suggestions.Vince
