How can I change the scenery?

Featured Replies

Hello to all,I am quite new on Flight Gear and usually fly in the local area, which I fairly well know visually, so the navigation is easier.1.What I found out is, that all airfields in this area are shown with the RWY and TWY in wrong orientation. Can that be changed? How can I get in contact with the people creating the scenery?2. Most of the Airfields here have TACAN as Navaid. Is there a trick to receive such in a VOR-Receiver?Can I possibly create a VOR/DME at such location? Thank you very muchFritz

There's an editor for things like these available:http://www.nottingham.ac.uk/~eazdluf/taxidraw.html where you can change the runways/taxiways. But if the changes affect the terrain, too, you'd need to use fgsd (http://fgsd.sourceforge.net/) in addition and to generate new scenery (not trivial!).>How can I get in contact with the people creating the>scenery?Subscribe to the FlightGear users or devel mailing lists:http://www.flightgear.org/mail.html>2. You can edit the file $FG_ROOT/Navaids/nav.dat.gz. I think you just need to copy the respective entry from the "3" section to the "12" section (or the other way around :-). The sections are indicated with the first number in every line.
