April 6, 200521 yr Hi all.I'm really new to FlightGear, so be patient :-)I have a couple of problem, now. When I select an airport from the airports list nothing happens. Instead, if I select "place the plane on ground" (or something like that) it askes me for an airport code and the runway number.Where I can get those informations?thanks
April 11, 200521 yr Try this site:http://www.photius.com/wfb2001/airport_codes_alpha.htmlYou will have to add another letter infront of these three letter codes in order for FlightGear to accept them. Off the top of my head, C is for Canada, L is for France, and K is for the US. So, if you want to start at YYZ (Toronto Pearson International Airport), you will have to enter CYYZ when FlightGear asks you for the airport code. You will need to download the scenery for that location first. Otherwise, FlightGear will put you in the middle of the ocean.
April 11, 200521 yr > L is for France,L is for Southern Europe (+ Turkey, Israel, etc.), while E is for Northern Europe. It's the second letter that decides:LF -> FranceLI -> ItalyLE -> SpainLP -> PortugalLO -> AustriaLT -> TurkeyLL -> Israel...
April 12, 200521 yr hi, tnx for the answers. But.. I've searched for Palermo (Italy) into the default.apt of FG and it returnes me a code "LICJ", but in http://www.photius.com/wfb2001/airport_codes_alpha.html#P Palermo seems to be PMO, so, the name of the airport should be LIPMO? Am quite confused.. sorry :-|

FlightGear uses only ICAO codes. (Well, not quite: for U.S. airports: ICAO = 'K' + IATA. :-)
