Hi Everyone,I have recently downloaded Flightgear 0.9.8 and after successfully running for a while decided tom play with the settings.I changed the flight model to baloon on the Piper Cub to see what would happen and now the only aircraft that work are the Cessna 310 and the Piper Warrior. Even playing around with the settings and putting them back to their origonal positions doesn't work. I also tried reinstalling the program but flightgear continues to revert to its old settings and refuse to work. Is there a way that I can completely wipe flight gear from my system so that I may install it completely afresh?PS Perhaps I might have a go at making a contribution. At the moment I am warming up by making a C152 with VC.

The only cause I can imagine is, that your editor saved the file with MSDOS line endings (015012), while fgfs (still) expects Unix line endings (012). (I had thought that fgfs does already digest both variants, but some files may be excluded. All of fgfs data files are Unix-style.)No idea how to wipe all of fgfs under Windows. Maybe "format c:"? ;-)

So where can I find the unix file?EDIT: fredb had the solution in another post:There is also people that did random clicks in the advanced section of fgrun that produce wrong parameters that crash the program. Those people should :1. desinstall FlightGear,2. go to C:Documents and SettingsApplication Dataflightgear.org and delete fgrun.prefs3. install fgsetup-0.9.8a.exeSomeone should put this in the FAQthanks franz and fredb

The installation of flightgear ( that needs a preliminary desinstallation ) has the benefit to provide a default fgrun.prefs with the right path. If you simply delete fgrun.prefs, you are on your own to set the path with additionnal source of errors that should be avoided when people are not knowing what they do. Not speaking of the risk of simply deleting the file with fgrun still running, which it totally useless.
