HiI found FlightGear while looking for something else on SorgeForge :-)As there wasn't a binary for Mandrake, and I just wanted to see what it was like I downloaded and installed the Windows version 0.9.8.On Windows 2K SP4. Athlon 3.2 1Gb RAM Martox G550 graphics card. (This runs MS-flight sim quite nicely :-).I let FlightGrar install in the default place "C:Program FilesFlightGear". I had a quick read through the docs, and then double clicked on the desk top icon. I tried running through using just the defaults. Just to see what it was like. I go an error about the scenery file was missing. I tried lots of other locations but got the same message.This time I choose the Cessna 172p Skyhawk (1981 model)CA70 Bishop Ranch (as there was a senery file for this C:Program FilesFlightGeardataSceneryTerrainw130n30w122n37) Runway H1xWhen the program starts to run I now get this error :-(Unknown runway code H1x passed to GetReverseRunwayNo(...)Failed to find runway H1x at airport CA70Unknown exception in the main loop. Aborting...Possible cause: No such file or directoryI downloaded the UK scenery and choose EGLK Blackbushe, as that's where I fly out of :-)This time the program started up with just a picture of the pannel but its upside down, yep the top is at the bottom etc. No sound, no ground, nothing. Only the error mesage sayingPossible cause: No such file or directoryI have had a look through the forum the solutions suggested there seem to be regarding sound and graphic drivers. My problem from the error message anyway appears to be broken pathsinside the executable.I have also tried uninstalling the program removing the files from doc and Settings, and reinstalledstill it don't work :-(ho hum, Zaf

Have you tried changing planes?

You probably forgot to specify the --fg-root parameter.
