Eventually the horizon starts to tilt. With a 172P with 2D panel, I get the same with the addition of engine noise and a night setting although the starting time is supposed to be noon.Suggestions? Thanks,Marc

June 29, 200520 yr If I run FG with --model-hz=11, plane spins similar as you have described. I have reported this at flightgear.org
June 29, 200520 yr >If I run FG with --model-hz=11, plane spins similar as you>have described. >>I have reported this at flightgear.orgWell, you'll probably want to run FlightGear with not much less than ~80 hz for most cases.
June 29, 200520 yr - is the Joystick properly configured/calibrated ?Yes.- does the problem also occur when you have disconnected the joystick ?It starts out spinning, but does respond to arrow keyboard inputs - I don't know the keyboard commands for throttle and help isn't retrieving anything.- does the problem also occur at other airports ?Yes.- does the problem also occur using different aircraft ?Yes, with the only one tried - Beech 99.- have you tried using a different joystick ?No - don't have one and am unwilling to buy one strictly for troubleshooting - this system is a Father's Day gift for Dad and I really can't spend much more money on it.- do you have sound enabled (i.e. might the engine be running anyway ?)Sound is working today.- Depending on your findings, you might find it somewhat more enlightening to start FlightGear with its integrated telnet interface to the property tree being enabled, that way you'll be able to interactively start debug sessions using a telnet client.I have no idea how to do this. The only response from the joystick is moving the throttle wheel on the Beech 99 increases or decreases engine noise.
