FlightGear slow sometimes

Featured Replies

I have compiled the lastest release (0.9.8) of flightgear. When I look a certain way it becomes extremely slow.It happens usually at the airports when I start but it has happend when there is nothing but water around. For example Im starting at KLAX and when I look to the left I get 130 fps but when I look to the right I get 3 fps!!.I feel something is wrong with that.Im running Ubuntu AMD64 and I have tested the version I can get with apt too.My computer specs are:AMD Athlon 64 3000+ (1800MHz)ASUS A8N-E Socket 939ASUS Geforce PCX6600 128MB512 MB RAMI think its weird that its runs so smothly and then suddenly I look one way and its almost stops!its not always this happens sometimes I can look any way without slowdown and sometimes for some strange reason it becomes super slow.Im also get some errors which I don't fully understand what they are:Error: base = 0,1249.37 course = 0.917848 dist = 1.25818e+07Error: base = 0,1249.27 course = 0.917848 dist = 1.25818e+07Error: base = 0,-1505.72 course = 5.00536 dist = 1.25818e+07Error: base = 0,-1505.72 course = 5.00536 dist = 1.25818e+07

May be you don't have direct rendering enabled? Check if that's the case by typing the following:glxinfo | grep directYou should post the output here as well.Other than this, I have no idea what would cause this problem that you are having. :-hmmm
