(i did what it said on the site, but it didnt work>[it couldnt extract, there was nothing there to extract])This could be a problem with fgrun.exe the gui interface to run flightgear. In this case try to run flightgear without fgrun.exe at the command prompt with the --aircraft optionby executnig fgfs.exe.To do this you need to be in the flightgear/bin directory.Example:fgfs.exe --aircraft=bo105fgfs.exe --show-aircraftgives you a list of available aircrafts.
July 26, 200520 yr umm, i got the helicopter part, but, not really the more aircraft thing.... can u like give me a step-by-step walk-through of it, because i still don't understand and it's still not working. thanx

August 1, 200520 yr but what do i do when i'm in that black box thing?I think the problem is that when I download the planes, i dont get a compressed (Zipped) file to extract into my flightgear data thingmaybe i should just give up?
August 4, 200520 yr The "black box thing" is called a command shell. Try and launch FlightGear by typing in "runfgfs".There is a documentation on FlightGear's website regarding how to launch FlightGear in Windows. If typing in "runfgfs" doesn't work, you may want to check out the documentation:http://flightgear.org/Docs/InstallGuide/ge...tml#x9-310004.2As to compressed files, there are many formats out there other than zip. The files that you have downloaded from FlightGear's mirror are call tarballs. You will have to get a seperate program (similar to WinZip) to be able to extract the files. Unfortunately, I am a Linux user, so I cannot tell what program you will have to get for Windows or where to get it.As a side note, I highly encourage you to start using Linux now. It will give you better understanding and knowledge on computer than Windows can. I can only hope to start using Linux when I was twelve years old.
