Installing new Aircraft results in segmentation fault

Featured Replies

I unpacked the aircraft in the appropriate directory, but when I try and run the sim eg fgfs in console, I get a segmentation fault - any one else have this?Regards,Shelton.

>I unpacked the aircraft in the appropriate directory, but>when I try and run the sim eg fgfs in console, I get a>segmentation fault - any one else have this?Does this happen only with specific aircraft or with all aircraft? Also, how exactly did you 'install' these new aircraft? As an aside, it's generally an excellent idea to provide a maximum amount of information when you want to enable people to help you, thus it would definitely make sense to tell us about things such as: 1) your version of FlightGear, 2) your platform/OS, 3) your system specs, 4) any non-standard settings (i.e. customizations), 5) whether you have any issues with other software, too.Additionally, it would also be good to tell us about how familiar you are with computers in general and FlightGear in particular, so that we can try to provide the corresponding feedback. For example, as I don't know you and you didn't provide _any_ such information, I don't know whether you are able to run FlightGear from a command line (shell) environment,so that you could invoke FlightGear with arguments such as --log-level=debug (or even =bulk) in order to see where FlightGear stops, or if you have possibly also tried to do exactly that? Also, it's often a good idea to simply search a forum (or mailing list or webpage) prior to starting topics that may have been sufficiently addressed previously. In general, if you don't get a solution to your problem here, you should subscribe to one of the FlightGear mailing lists and post your issues there, possibly referring back to a previous forum discussion.

HiThankyou very much for your help - eventually I got it sorted (had the wrong version installed - older version)Thanks againRegardsShelton.
